The Big Talk

Are you kids starting to ask a lot of questions that you might not know how to answer? Or would you like to be more prepared for when they do? Conversations with children regarding subjects like consent and sexuality can be extremely daunting. With this in mind, we have created a program to give parents tips and tricks in how to approach these conversations. Beginning April 5th, we will be holding classes every Tuesday night from 5:30-6:15 pm for 5 weeks at the Davenport Public Library Eastern Branch where will be covering subjects such as how to be an ask-able parent, consent, online safety, sexuality, and developing healthy relationships. There will be door prizes and giveaways at every session. Please email Wendy Walljasper, at wwalljasper@bethany-qc.org, for registration or any further questions.

24/7 Dad

Becoming a father at a young age can come with a new set of challenges that you might not be ready for. Trying to balance school, careers, and relationships can be extremely overwhelming. Because of this, we developed a program tailored specifically towards teen dads, or any father up to the age of 21 who is working of their GED. During this program we will discuss various sets of behaviors, such as self-care, fathering skills, relationships skills, and creating self-awareness, that will help dads be involved, responsible, and committed to their children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Starting April 7th, we will be meeting from 5:00-6:00 pm at our Davenport location every Thursday night for 8 weeks. There will be snacks and prizes available at every session. Please contact Jessica Byczynski, at jbyczynski@bethany-qc.org, for registration or any further questions.
