As families throughout our community prepare to send their children back to school– in whatever form that takes– they face a variety of stresses because of COVID-19. Parents are uncertain about their children’s physical and emotional health. At the same time, families are experiencing financial pressures. Unemployment, underemployment, and lack of insurance are on the minds of many.
This fall, Bethany will continue to serve families in our many school-based programs. And this year, we anticipate an increase in the:

-need for mental and behavioral health therapy, but an inability to pay for it;
-inability to pay for their child’s dental exam on the Give Kids a Smile mobile dental clinic;
-inability to afford school supplies and other basic necessities.
Bethany hopes to raise $10,000 by August 31st to help alleviate some of these needs.
A new school year is stressful for students and teachers—and this year there is the added pressure of the pandemic. Your support of our children in western Illinois and eastern Iowa is part of the 121-year history of Bethany’s services to the community.
