Families, sports teams, office professionals, and a small army of kids packed Whitey’s Ice Cream on Monday, June 21 for the 11th Annual “Cones for Kids” Day. Half of all cone/dip sales and wooden nickel sales that day support the services of Bethany for Children & Families. Bethany’s Milestones After-School and Summer Program visited Whitey’s for a sweet summer treat.
Administrative Professionals’ Day Luncheon benefitting Bethany April 16, 2010
More than 260 administrative professionals, assistants, executives, and managers from area businesses filled the Radisson Quad City Plaza with laughter at this year’s Administrative Professionals’ Day Luncheon benefitting Bethany for Children & Families. Uncle Bruster’s Lessons in Laughter offered a unique performance that involved delivering “packages” to specific attendees, but Uncle Bruster did not leave without intertwining a special message about life and its taxing stresses. The luncheon concluded with the ever-important door prize and raffle prize drawings.
Volunteers and Donations January-March 2010
Through the help of the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” program along with the United Way’s Youth Day of Caring and other generous members of the community, Bethany has received numerous donations of food items, crafts and games, cleaning supplies, toiletries and paper products, baby supplies, first-aid kits, and Wal-Mart gift cards. Not only have families brought in supplies to help families in need, but they have also volunteered their time to wash visiting room toys, paint the entire first and second floor of Bethany’s Moline office, folded and organized clothes in the clothing pantry, and assisted with furniture donations. Thank you to everyone who invested their time, energy, and resources into our community.
Give Kids A Smile Day February 5, 2010
Over 400 disadvantaged children in Rock Island and Scott Counties received dental cleanings and screenings on Friday, February 5, “Give Kids A Smile Day.” In all, 92 Quad City dentists volunteered their time and resources to provide oral exams to needy children.
