What do you do at Bethany?
Bethany for Children & Families is a voluntary, not-for-profit agency that has provided services to children and families in western Illinois and eastern Iowa since 1899. Bethany is a licensed Illinois child welfare agency and a licensed child-placing agency for the State of Iowa. The organization consists of a professional team of social workers, licensed counselors, case managers, and educators who work “to keep children safe, to strengthen families, and to build healthy communities”.

What are your hours of operation?
Bethany is open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Where is Bethany located?
Bethany’s main administrative office is located in Moline, with additional Illinois offices in Kewanee and Carbon Cliff. In Iowa, Bethany has offices in Davenport, Muscatine, and Maquoketa.

Do you accept or distribute in-kind donations?
Bethany accepts and distributes gently used clothing from the clothing pantry, which is open from 2-3pm at the Davenport location. Please call 563-324-9169 if you would like to donate.

Bethany also accepts in-kind donations such as gently used beds, dressers, appliances, and other household items at their Moline location. Please call 309-797-7700 if you would like to donate or are in need of an item. Click here for a furniture donation flyer.

How can I make a gift to Bethany?
Bethany now accepts online contributions. Gifts may also be made with a credit card over the phone at 309-797-7700 or by sending a check to the Development Office, 1830 6th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265.

Do you have a car loan program?
The Ways to Work car loan program is designed to assist low-to-moderate income families that are unable to receive a car loan from a bank or credit union due to poor, or no credit history. The aim is to help clients maintain or improve their employment situation and their ability to financially support a family.

Do you have a dental program for children?
The Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) program is available to children ages three to 15 who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, who have never been to a dentist, who do not have dental insurance, or have Medicaid but cannot find a provider who accepts that type of insurance. Give Kids A Smile takes place in the offices of the volunteer dentists usually on the first Friday in February.
